Loved seeing all your pictures, Paulette. Can't help but thinking there's inspiration for a fantastic future sampler there!!! I look forward to stitching it!!!

Margaret

Fantastic! I've never been to Mt. Vernon. Maybe someday.

Cousin George's house! I grew up in Alexandria not knowing that I'm distantly related to George. Went back to Mt. Vernon in 2012 with renewed interest! So much history in that whole area that went unappreciated as I grew up. I couldn't soak up enough of it in the heat of July 2012...can't wait to go back!!! ~*

I wish I had known you were here, I live between Mt. Vernon and Olde Town Alexandria. I've been to Mt. Vernon several times and would have loved to meet you. Well maybe next time.

Vonna

This is a lovely post, I was unable to get to Mount Vernon when I was in the DC area a year ago...thank you, I feel like I have been right with you!

Vickie

Oh my goodness! How very awesome. Thank you so very much for sharing this excellent history with us. I sooooooooo appreciate it.

Melissa

Have a post card featuring George's dentures. Wow...don't know how he wore them!

Ellen

Oh how I wish you had stopped in. You were just 3 minutes from my shop.

Ann

Thanks for sharing!
America is still something unknown to us (would love to visit) but through your story I can visit a lovely place.
