I looked out my bedroom window this morning at 6:00 a.m. and saw an early-morning oddity. At 31 degrees on the ground, I imagine they were feeling a bit chilly up there (even if heat does rise.)

I just blogged about this note on my other blog. I finally finished Frances Eden's Sampler, which was bequeathed to me - half-finished - by my dear friend Kim. She didn't care for the materials she chose to use on it (Glenshee and DMC), so she decided she would start Frances over one day. I was more than happy to take on a half-finished sampler - especially one that's mirrored, meaning I'd only have to stitch each motif once (yessssssss!).

Miss Frances was 10 years old in 1809 when she stitched this beauty, and my favorite part about it is the verse. She took something solemn and added her own cheeky color to it. I think these brightly colored samplers aren't very common, and the fact that she chose to use these vivid threads makes me think she would have gotten along great with my Sophie. (However, my Sophie would have found a way to use lime green in her piece.)

Mike was in such a hurry after work to get outside and play football with Sophie, he only changed half of his uniform. I love this picture of him, bc I was laughing when I took it, and then he started laughing when he saw me laughing, bc he knew what I was laughing at. ;)

The sun shining through the branches was so beautiful, I couldn't resist another tree picture. :) Flowers are some of my favorite things to photograph bc they're so cooperative, and God's beauty never ceases to amaze me; it's new every day.
