I shot the closeup "blind" by just laying the camera on the floor in front of Ruby and clicking away. I thought if I took the time to get situated on the floor in front of her, she'd startle and scamper away from me.

Sophie was playing her Nintendo DS before swim practice, and I thought the screen's light was really pretty on her little face. I had the camera almost sitting on her knees, which are in the foreground.

Believe it or not, I actually softened this photo bc it was too focused. I thought it made her look less soft, so I added a 3% blur to it. Shortly after I snapped this, Tasha came and stole her toy, which I did get photos of - but they're not very attractive.

I've decided that the real reason I don't quilt is bc it would be such a shame to dismantle these lovely fabric packs - when someone at the Moda factory clearly put a lot of hard work into them to make them look so lovely.

Self-portrait. After 142 takes, I got about 3 that were passable (meaning partially in focus). My arms are tired and I have no business lolly-gagging in front of the camera like this, but I was reading about someone's self-portrait challenge on a blog and thought I'd give it a try. It was far too great a challenge for me, and I have no desire to master it!
