Hasn't Martha Stewart used the "Good Things" stamp for years in her magazine? Oh well, I had to borrow it.. because I got some fun goodies in the mail recently!
First off, I wanted to share with you some soaps I bought on Etsy. I'm not kidding when I say Etsy is THE coolest place to shop.. I'm always amazed at the talent people have! Anyway, I first saw these soaps on Edgar's blog, and just knew I had to try them. (I'm a sucker for soap and candles... and cool bags of coffee, but I don't have to shop on Etsy to get those.)
The regular bars of soap are huge, so I opted for the sampler pack, which let me choose 6 flavors in 1/4-bar sizes. Yes, that is black soap you see.. isn't it cool? I'm not so sure I like the smell of black licorice, but I imagine it will smell quite soft and lovely when it dries down. One of the bars I got was called "Old Hippie," and I wasn't too sure I'd like it bc I'm not a fan of the smell of incense. At all. But amazingly enough, after the shower I smelled SPECTACULAR!! I LOVE smelling spectacular!!
Speaking of lovely and amazing and spectacular, I got the most wonderful gift in the mail from Lili!! I have to say, I was blown away by her generosity.. Lili is from France, and I've always wanted to receive something from France!! :) (Okay, I got to visit Paris when I was about 12 or so, but back then I didn't know cool French things existed. And all I remember is that I stood around all day with my group of classmates, bored to death, waiting around for a bunch of dudes to fly by on bicycles. Something about a tour and France or something... anyway, it was a real yawner, and I couldn't get why all the adults were so excited.)
Let me show you what Lili sent to me!!
First... lavender soap. French lavender soap. How could she know that lavender is my all-time favorite fragrance? I used to grow lots of it, but then it got crowded out by other things, so I yanked it all up. I shall grow it again this year, I say!
Oh my, it smells wonderful.
Next, she sent me a beautiful toile bag!! How could she know that toile is my all-time favorite fabric?? (Okay, maybe I've mentioned it a time or two here...) Anyway, she did a fantastic job on it, don't you think? :)
And look at that gorgeous button...
Annnnnnnnd.... guess what was INSIDE the bag?? A RED SAMPLER!!! How could she know that my all-time favorite samplers are RED????
Lily, you are much too generous. What a very lovely thing to do!
But wait! That's not all... she even included a box of French chocolate snails, and told me she hopes I was "strong enough to eat them." LOL! Why Lili, I love snails! How could you know that I love snails?
As you can see, they aren't going to last long around here!
Note to self: Don't panic. There is always tray #2...
Lili, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness. Btw, when I picked the box up from the post office, I couldn't wait to get home, so I opened it up right there in the car and was delighted to see all the gifts wrapped in pink paper.. pink is, in face, my all-time favorite color!
I think we must be soul sisters. ;)
Oh - and about those chocolates... I was thinking that if I get a chocolate bunny for Easter, and it decides it needs implants...
Merci beaucoup, mon cher ami.
